Abstract
Lately, cases of sexual violence have become violations that are often experienced by children throughout Indonesia. Even based on data compiled by the Ministry of PPPA through the PPPA Symphony, it is revealed that sexual violence against children is increasing every year in every region in Indonesia. Nganjuk Regency is one of the areas with relatively high cases of sexual violence. In these conditions, children become one of the elements affected in cases like this. For this reason, in order to reduce the impact and overcome sexual violence against children that has recently occurred, the Social Service of PPPA, Nganjuk Regency, continues to provide assistance to recover the trauma experienced by children who are victims of sexual violence. The purpose of this study was to find out how the communication strategy carried out by the assistant of the Social Service Office of PPPA in Nganjuk Regency was to be able to restore trauma to children who were victims of sexual violence. The reason is that the PPPA Social Service is deemed successful in providing assistance in the context of trauma recovery for children who are victims of sexual violence. In this study, the method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of interviews with an emphasis on how the communication strategy was carried out by the social service assistant of PPPA Nganjuk Regency. The results of this study are the assistants of the Social Service Office of PPPA in Nganjuk Regency through 4 stages in carrying out communication strategies in trauma recovery for children who are victims of sexual violence. These stages are the preparation stage, the approach stage, the recovery stage and the monitoring stage. In addition, in the approach process and before entering the trauma recovery stage, there are several things that the facilitator does, such as asking affirmative questions, avoiding open-ended and chronological questions as well as paying attention to the psychological well-being of the victim. After that, they can enter the stage of trauma recovery and monitoring to ensure that child victims of sexual violence have a supportive environment and can truly recover from the trauma.
