Abstract

The implementation of the Internship Program (PKL) at PT Tri UsahaBerkat is part of a student competency development initiative aimed at addressingreal-world challenges in the field of information technology. The project, titled“Performance Testing of TPC-H Standard Database Using Apache JMeter withPgpool-II Replication Architecture,” primarily aims to evaluate the performanceof a PostgreSQL database system under heavy workloads and to implement areplication scheme that ensures system stability and availability. The project implementation methods include installing the Ubuntu 22.04LTS operating system, setting up and configuring PostgreSQL 14, and deployingPgpool-II middleware to support features such as connection pooling, loadbalancing, automatic failover, and watchdog. The dataset was generated usingDBGEN based on the TPC-H schema. Testing was conducted using ApacheJMeter with a Test Plan structure consisting of Thread Groups, TransactionControllers, PreProcessors (JSR223), and JDBC Requests to execute the 22standard TPC-H queries. Each test scenario was designed to be deterministic yet realistic by utilizing parameterization and random seeds. The internship results show that the system successfully executedall queries with stable performance and supported automatic failover. In additiontotechnical outcomes, the project also enhanced professional skills suchasdocumentation, virtual collaboration, and time management, making it a valuablefoundation for a career in information systems and database architecture.
