Abstract

ABSTRACT : Restorative Justice has emerged as an alternative approach to resolving criminal cases, including crimes involving children. The basic principles of Restorative Justice are to focus on victim recovery, perpetrator accountability, and reconciliation. Assessing the role and degree of guilt of the child is a key factor in determining the applicability of restorative justice at the investigation stage. The types of narcotics crimes that allow for the application of restorative justice are generally limited to children who are drug abusers or addicts, particularly those in the category of possession for personal use and not related to illegal distribution networks. In this context, children are more appropriately viewed as parties in need of protection and rehabilitation rather than punishment. .
