Abstract

This special assignment discusses the mass and heat balance calculations of the evaporator station in a sugar factory with a milling capacity of 5.492,6 TCD (Ton Cane per Day). The calculations were performed to determine the mass and energy distribution during the evaporation process, where clarified juice is concentrated into syrup before the crystallization stage. The milling capacity is equivalent to 228,85 tons of sugar cane per hour, and the mass and heat balances were calculated based on the inlet and outlet material streams as well as the heat required for water evaporation. The results provide an evaluation of the evaporator performance, steam consumption, and thermal efficiency, which can be used as a reference for process control, energy optimization, and stable operation of the sugar production process.
