Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of employment opportunities and the Human Development Index (HDI) on economic growth in Merauke Regency for the period 2015–2024. Secondary data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Merauke Regency and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS 26. The results of the study indicate that simultaneously employment opportunities and HDI have a significant effect on economic growth. However, partially only employment opportunities have a significant effect, while HDI has no significant effect. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.853 indicates that both variables are able to explain the variation in economic growth by 85.3%. This finding indicates that increasing employment opportunities has an important role in driving economic growth, while increasing HDI requires a longer time to have a real impact.
