Abstract
Jombor Terminal plays a vital role as a land transportation hub and the main gateway on the northern side of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. However, the current condition shows a significant decline in space quality, such as irregular circulation, the dangerous mixing of vehicle and pedestrian paths, and a confusing layout due to minimal signage. This design aims to redesign Jombor Terminal so that it can accommodate user movement more optimally, safely, and understandably. The method used is Kevin Lynch's Wayfinding approach, which utilizes the elements of paths, edges, districts, nodes, and landmarks to tackle orientation problems within the terminal. The proposed design concept is 'The Legible Cultural Gateway,' which combines easy navigation with local identity through the New Javanese architectural style. This concept is realized in the form of a single, centralized building mass with clearly defined zoning. The main strategies include a complete separation between pedestrian and vehicle routes, as well as strengthening the lobby area as the main orientation point. The design is expected to create a terminal environment that is efficient, modern, easy to understand (legible), and comfortable for users, in line with the character of Yogyakarta.
