Abstract

The increase in the number of stock investors among university students indicates that investment decisions are influenced not only by rational factors but also by psychological factors. This study aims to analyze the influence of overconfidence, experience regret, and availability bias on stock investment decisions and examine the role of locus of control as a moderating variable among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, UPN Veteran East Java. This study used a quantitative approach with a non-probability sampling technique using a purposive sampling method. The data used in the study were primary data obtained from respondents, with a sample size of 133 FEB students. The analysis method used in this study was PLS (Partial Least Squares) with the assistance of the SmartPLS 4.0 program. The research results show that overconfidence and availability bias contribute to shaping stock investment decisions, while experience regret doesn't contribute to stock investment decisions. In addition, locus of control helps reduce the effect of overconfidence on stock investment decisions, but it doesn't help change the impact of experience regret or availability bias on stock investment decisions.
