Abstract
The development of digital technology has encouraged various services to adopt technology by creating applications that are more practical and easily accessible, including Makeup Artist (MUA) services. Currently, the process of searching and booking MUA services is still mostly carried out through social media or word-of-mouth recommendations. As a result, clients often experience difficulties in comparing services, checking schedule availability, and making bookings in a structured steps. On the other hand, Makeup Artists also need a platform that can help them manage profiles, services, schedules, and bookings more effectively. Based on these problems, this study aims to design the UI/UX of a Makeup Artist marketplace application called “MUArt” using the Double Diamond method. The Double Diamond method consists of four stages: Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver. The Discover stage was conducted to understand user problems through data collection. The Define stage was used to formulate user needs based on the analysis results, such as user personas and user journey maps. The Develop stage produced design outputs in the form of wireframes, mockups, and application prototypes. Furthermore, the Deliver stage was conducted through usability testing and heuristic evaluation to evaluate the quality of the interface design. The usability testing results showed that the client role obtained an effectiveness score of 98.57%, an efficiency score of 98.94%, and an average SUS score of 91. Meanwhile, the MUA role obtained an effectiveness score of 98.33%, an efficiency score of 97.32%, and an average SUS score of 95.5. These results indicate that the MUArt application design has a very good level of usability, is easy to use, efficient, and able to meet user needs in the process of searching, booking, and managing Makeup Artist services.
