Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of social media User Generated Content (UGC) on Generation Z tourists' visit intention to Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) Jakarta. Utilizing a quantitative approach with a non-parametric causal explanatory design, primary data was gathered via structured Google Forms questionnaires distributed to 130 Generation Z respondents who had not visited TIM within the past year. Due to non-normally distributed residual data, hypothesis testing was conducted using simple linear regression analysis with the Bootstrapping method (1,000 resamples) at a 95% Bias-Corrected and Accelerated (BCa) confidence level. Descriptive analysis results indicate that the UGC variable is rated as "Excellent" (mean = 4.18), with information relevance and attractiveness achieving the highest scores. TikTok (73.8%) and Instagram (26.2%) emerged as the primary visual platforms relied upon by respondents. Empirical findings prove that UGC has a direct, positive, and significant effect on Generation Z tourists' visit intention (Sig. < 0.001). The regression coefficient (B = 0.757) and the 95% BCa Confidence Interval range (0.607 to 0.893) which does not include zero strongly support the acceptance of the working hypothesis (H1). Furthermore, UGC contributes directly by 45.1% (R² = 0.451) to the variance of visit intention, while the remaining 54.9% is influenced by external factors. In conclusion, the authenticity of peer-to-peer experiences in UGC acts as an instant uncertainty reducer for young tourists in urban destinations.
