Abstract
Social media has evolved into a digital public space that allows people to convey social and political criticism through various forms of creative communication, one of which is satirical memes. The Instagram account @politicalmemes.id utilizes humor, irony, parody, and satire as a means of conveying criticism of the issue of the People's Demands 17 + 8 which has attracted public attention. This study aims to analyze the forms of satire used in the content of the @politicalmemes.id account and reveal the meaning of social and political criticism represented through memes. The study uses a qualitative approach with the Klauss Krippendorff Content Analysis method. The research data consists of satirical meme uploads published in the period August - September 2025 and related to the issue of the People's Demands 17 + 8. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation and literature studies, then analyzed based on the categories of Horatian, Juvenalian, Irony, and Parody satire. The results show that the content of the @politicalmemes.id account utilizes various forms of satire to criticize government policies, the performance of state institutions, and the behavior of political elites. Satire is used as a political communication strategy that allows criticism to be conveyed creatively, easily understood, and attractive to social media audiences. These findings show that satirical memes not only function as entertainment, but also as a medium for political expression and social reflection in the digital space.
