Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of herding bias, overconfidence bias, and representative bias on stock investment decisions, with financial literacy serving as a moderating variable among Generation Z in Surabaya. This research employed a quantitative methodology involving 97 respondents who were members of Generation Z in Surabaya, aged between 18 and 28 years. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Square (PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results of the study indicate that: (1) herding bias contributes positively to improving investment decisions; (2) overconfidence bias contributes positively to improving investment decisions; (3) representative bias contributes positively to improving investment decisions; (4) financial literacy moderates the relationship between herding bias and investment decisions; (5) financial literacy moderates the relationship between overconfidence bias and investment decisions; and (6) financial literacy does not moderate the relationship between representative bias and investment decisions. Keywords: Herding Bias, Overconfidence Bias, Representative Bias, Financial Literacy, Investment Decisions
