Abstract
The Business Incubator of UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur is a business development platform for student tenants through registration, mentoring, reporting, progress monitoring, and tenant data archiving processes. However, these processes are still carried out through separate media such as online forms, spreadsheets, Google Drive, and messaging groups, causing data management and information delivery to be less optimal. This study aims to design the User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) of the Business Incubator Information System Website of UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur using the Design Thinking method. The Design Thinking method was applied through five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Data were collected through interviews with business incubator staff, supervising lecturers, and student tenants. The interview results were analyzed into empathy maps, problem statements, pain points, and user personas. Furthermore, the solutions were designed through How Might We, information architecture, wireframe, wireflow, design system, and high-fidelity mockup. The results show that the UI/UX design received positive evaluations. In the UEQ, the assessment scale ranges from -3 to +3, where positive values indicate a good user experience. Attractiveness scored +2.489, perspicuity +2.342, efficiency +2.558, dependability +2.417, stimulation +2.400, and novelty +2.058. These results indicate that the website was perceived as attractive, easy to understand, efficient, reliable, enjoyable, and sufficiently innovative. The second iteration of usability testing resulted in 98.07% effectiveness and 98.24% efficiency, indicating that users could complete tasks with high success and efficient completion time. Heuristic Evaluation provided recommendations regarding visual consistency, form simplification, icon clarity, and notification display. Based on these findings, Design Thinking can produce a UI/UX website design that meets user needs.
