Abstract
Anthracnose is one of the major diseases affecting chilli peppers, caused by the pathogen Colletotrichum sp., which can reduce chilli productivity. It is known that combining two control methods can enhance the performance of biological agents and yield more optimal results. This study aimed to investigate the potential of combining the application of Trichoderma sp. and betel leaf extract at various concentrations on the development of anthracnose. This study employed a completely randomised factorial design (CRFD) with two factors. Both in vitro and in vivo tests were conducted. The results indicated that the treatment combining 5% betel leaf extract and Trichoderma sp. exhibited the highest inhibitory effect, with an average percentage of 41.67%, compared to the other treatments. The application of Trichoderma sp. was able to delay the onset of disease symptoms compared to the extract alone. The application of 10% betel leaf extract and Trichoderma sp. individually resulted in the lowest disease intensity. The study showed that the combination of control measures in reducing the development of anthracnose did not produce a synergistic effect in vivo.
