Abstract
Robusta coffee is one of the leading commodities in Kare Subdistrict that plays an important role in the local economy. Limited market control means that farmers have not gained maximum benefits from robusta coffee cultivation. This study aims to map the robusta coffee value chain, identify robusta coffee value chain activities and identify the effect of upgrading on the coffee value chain. Primary data collection was conducted by questionnaires, interviews and literature studies with respondents 50 farmers, 1 collector trader and 1 coffee processor who have an important role in the coffee value chain in Kare District. The analysis method used SEM-PLS with the WarpPLS version 8.0 analysis tool. The results showed (1) there are 3 coffee value chains in Kare District with 6 value chain actors namely coffee farmers, collecting traders, coffee processors, coffee shops, retail and consumers (2) Robusta coffee value chain actors have a relationship that is intertwined and formed in the market (3) The test results show that product upgrading, process upgrading, function upgrading and channel upgrading have a positive and significant influence on the robusta coffee value chain in Kare Subdistrict.
