Abstract
Bangkalan is one of the regencies located in the western part of East Java Province and serves as the main gateway to Madura Island. This regency has developed tourism as one of its leading sectors, with great potential for developing the tourism industry. Based on data from the Bangkalan Regency Central Statistics Agency in 2019, the number of tourist visits reached 2.5 million people. This achievement shows the great potential of the tourism sector, which also has an impact on the preservation of the historical and cultural values of Bangkalan Regency. However, based on the 2018-2023 Bangkalan Regency RPJMD document, the government still does not have adequate facilities to support historical and cultural resources. Therefore, the design of the Bangkalan Historical Museum with the concept of Memorable of Regionalism is intended to address the need for cultural facilities that are both educational and recreational. The presence of this museum is expected to optimize the potential of the region and attract visitors, both domestic and foreign. Regionalism is defined as a regional identity that reflects the cultural values, customs, and traditions of the local community. The concept of regionalism is applied to the history and culture that reflect the unique characteristics of the Bangkalan region. The main facilities at the Bangkalan Historical Museum are the museum and audiovisual room, which contain information, dioramas, and videos on the history of Bangkalan up to the present day, as well as an MSME center as a place to introduce local culture and traditions in the form of souvenirs typical of Bangkalan. Thus, the Regionalism Architecture approach and hybrid architectural design methods are applied through the integration of traditional cultural elements and historical values of Bangkalan with universal modern architectural characteristics. It is hoped that the Bangkalan Historical Museum can represent the local identity of Bangkalan, serve as a means of promoting history and culture, and become an educational medium for introducing local wisdom to the wider community. Keywords: Bangkalan, Regionalism, Museum
