Abstract
Moral degradation by Generation Z is an interesting issue and occurs a lot in the midst of the development of digital technology and changes in values in society. Various forms of morality violations such as promiscuity, bullying, the use of abusive language, and the abuse of social media nowadays always involve Generation Z as perpetrators and victims. The webseries "Culture Shock" is present as a form of series that represents the violation of morality committed by generation Z. This research aims to analyze how moral degradation committed by generation Z is represented in the series using the theory of Roland Barthes' semiotics. The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach by being described through three meanings, namely: the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth. The research data was obtained through documentation techniques from selected scenes. The results of the study show that the webseries "Culture Shock" represents the moral degradation of generation Z as a normalized phenomenon in modern life today. This research is expected to make an academic contribution to the study of communication, especially the analysis of media representation and morality, as well as become a reflection material for generation Z in responding to moral values in the digital era. Keywords: Representation, Moral Degradation, Generation Z, Webseries
