Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational communication and transformational leadership style on employee job satisfaction with intrinsic motivation as an intervening variable at PT Sanmas Surabaya, a company engaged in rice production and distribution. The background of this research lies in the importance of effective internal communication and inspirational leadership in enhancing employee job satisfaction, particularly through the improvement of intrinsic motivation that arises from within the employees themselves. This research employs a quantitative approach using the Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique to examine the relationships among variables. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 83 employees from various divisions at PT Sanmas Surabaya. Each variable was measured using validated and reliable indicators based on previous studies and theoretical frameworks. The results reveal that organizational communication has a positive and significant effect on intrinsic motivation and job satisfaction. Similarly, transformational leadership has a positive and significant influence on both intrinsic motivation and job satisfaction. Furthermore, intrinsic motivation acts as an intervening variable that strengthens the relationship between organizational communication and transformational leadership toward employee job satisfaction.
