Abstract
Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in increasing income, starting from the household level as the smallest economic unit and extending to contributions at the national economic level. Herbal drink MSMEs (jamu) have become a preferred option for many housewives among various other informal jobs due to the flexibility of the production process and the capital requirements that can be adjusted to the family’s financial capacity. In addition, the income generated from jamu sales enables these housewives to support their household needs. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of jamu-selling housewives, the magnitude of their income contribution, the factors influencing their income, and the efforts made to stabilize their business income. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a census of 60 respondents who are jamu-selling housewives conducting digital marketing through the e-Peken Surabaya website. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires, and subsequently analyzed using descriptive analysis, income contribution analysis, and multiple linear regression. The results show that the average income contribution from jamu sales to household income is 42.84%. Factors such as working hours and work experience have a significant influence on the income earned by jamu sellers, whereas the number of family members and age do not have a significant effect on jamu sales income. Efforts undertaken by jamu-selling housewives include product diversification, quality improvement, and participation in counseling and assistance provided by relevant government agencies.
