Abstract

This plant is expected to produce with a capacity of 40,000 tons of Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) per year. The plant will be built in Taktakan District, Serang City, Banten. It is planned to operate continuously for 24 hours a day over 330 days per year, with the main raw material being cellulose powder. Supporting raw materials include sodium hydroxide, sodium monochloroacetate, and acetone. The process is carried out in two reactors: an alkalization reactor at 30°C and an etherification reactor at 45°C, which is exothermic in nature. The reaction produces Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC). Electricity requirements are supplied by PLN and generators. The plant adopts a limited liability company (PT) organizational system with a line and staff organizational structure.
