Abstract

PT. Nippon Shokubai Indonesia is a global petrochemical company that is a pioneer in Indonesia in producing Superabsorbent Polymer (SAP). The company has several plants, namely an Acrylic Acid Plant (AA), an Ethyl Acrylate Plant (EA), a Butyl Acrylate Plant (BA), a 2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate Plant (EHA), and a Superabsorbent Polymer Plant (SAP). The production capacity of each respective plant is 240,000 tons/year, 20,000 tons/year, 40,000 tons/year, 40,000 tons/year, and 90,000 tons/year. SAP itself is a polymer capable of absorbing a large amount of water far exceeding its own weight, making it widely used in absorbent products such as diapers and feminine pads.
