Abstract

The management of hazardous and toxic waste requires innovative educational approaches to enhance technical understanding and environmental awareness, particularly among internship students. This study aims to explore the acceptance of virtual reality (VR) technology as an educational medium for introducing hazardous and toxic waste management, using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework. The application was tested on six students who were interning and supervising B3 waste in industry with Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Provinsi Jawa Timur. Data were collected through a questionnaire focusing on Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, and Attitudes Toward Technology Use. Results indicated that the VR application was perceived as highly useful (87.5%), easy to use (89.2%), and positively received by users (92.5%). These findings suggest that VR technology holds strong potential as an interactive educational tool for introducing hazardous and toxic waste management. The study recommends further content development and broader testing involving a larger pool of respondents.
