Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Indonesian commercial diplomacy in increasing the number of foreign tourist arrivals through the Bali Beyond and Travel Fair (BBTF) during the period 2021–2024. BBTF is an international-scale tourism promotion event based on MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions), which serves as one of the government's strategies to strengthen informal economic diplomacy in the tourism sector. The method used in this study is a descriptive analytical method with a qualitative approach, using secondary data in the form of official BBTF reports, international tourist visit data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), as well as media documentation and related publications. This study also compares the trend of increasing international tourist visits with the achievements of participation and transactions during the BBTF. The results of this study demonstrate that the BBTF is part of Indonesia's commercial diplomacy in increasing foreign tourist visits through the involvement of government and business roles based on the components of commercial diplomacy theory. Thus, the BBTF has a significant impact on increasing foreign tourist visits. Keywords: commercial diplomacy, Bali Beyond and Travel Fair, tourism, foreign tourists.
