Abstract

The current manual process for Cross-Level Prior Learning Recognition (RPL) at PJM LPMPP Universitas Trunojoyo Madura is inefficient and prone to errors. This research aimed to develop a web-based Information System for Cross-Level RPL to address these issues. The primary objectives were to apply the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method for system design and development, and to analyze the performance of Cosine Similarity and Jaccard Similarity methods in recommending course conversions. The system was developed using the Laravel Framework with a Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture. System testing involved Blackbox Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The results from Blackbox Testing indicated that all system functionalities for the Admin, RPL Student, and Assessor roles performed as expected. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) demonstrated a "Sangat Baik" (Very Good) level of user acceptance for both the prototype and the final system across all user roles. The implementation of Cosine Similarity and Jaccard Similarity for course conversion recommendations yielded a Precision of 83.33%, Recall of 46.88%, and an F1-Score of 60.00%. It was concluded that the RAD method was successfully applied to develop a functional information system that is well-accepted by users. Furthermore, the implemented Similarity methods provide a substantial initial aid for course conversion recommendations.
