Abstract

Surabaya City is one of the cities in East Java Province with a relatively low stunting case with a percentage of 1.6% in 2024. This effort is accompanied by the issuance of the Great Parents School program, which is implemented at the Village level, one of which is Nginden Jangkungan Village. The Great Parents School (SOTH) is an informal education that is tentative in nature and intended for parents, especially mothers, in childcare patterns in the family, providing optimal nutrition, and preventing stunting. Public participation in the implementation of stunting reduction activities is a form of prevention and preventive handling by the government and the community, which is a shared responsibility. The purpose of this study is to describe the form of community participation in Nginden Jangkungan Village in the Great Parents School (SOTH) program. The theory used in this study is the theory of forms of community participation, according to Cohen and Upphof, namely public participation in decision-making, public participation in implementation, public participation in benefits, and public participation in evaluation. The results of the study show that the public of Nginden Jangkungan Village has actively participated in 1) Public Participation in Decision-Making, by attending coordination meetings, 2) Public Participation in Implementation, by attending each cumulative meeting, 3) Public Participation in Benefits, with the community receiving benefits or positive impacts after a development program is implemented, and 4) Public Participation in Evaluation, with the community providing ideas and suggestions on ongoing activities for evaluation more of future activite.
