Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of life expectancy, average years of schooling, per capita expenditure, and population on economic growth in Kediri City in the period 2013–2024. A quantitative approach was used in this study with the multiple linear regression method processed using SPSS software version 27. The data used were secondary data obtained from the Kediri City Central Statistics Agency. The results showed that life expectancy had a negative effect on economic growth, indicating that increasing life expectancy has not directly driven economic growth in the region. Average years of schooling had no effect, indicating that increasing the level of community education supports economic growth. Meanwhile, per capita expenditure also had no effect on economic growth, which could be caused by an imbalance between consumption and economic productivity. Meanwhile, population did not affect the economic growth of Kediri City during the study period. These findings provide important implications for the formulation of regional development policies that are more focused on improving the quality of education and managing more productive community spending to encourage sustainable economic growth.
