Abstract

Employment opportunities are one of the basic human needs and are an economic indicator to measure the level of success of a region that can be used as a benchmark for the government in implementing economic policies. The main problem in employment that arises in East Java Island is the low level of employment opportunities. In addition, there is a gap between workforce skills and the needs of the business world. Many industries require workers with special skills, while most of the workforce still does not have these qualifications. This study aims to examine the influence of labor, employment and investment on employment opportunities in East Java Province in 2008 to 2023. Using a quantitativeapproach with a multiple linear regression analysis method using the SPSS 29 analysis tool. Using secondary data from the BPS website of East Java Province for the period 2008-2023. The results of this study conclude that labor has a positive and significant effect on employment opportunities in East Java Province, then employment does not have a significant effect on employment opportunities in East Java Province, while investment has a negative effect on employment opportunities in East Java Province.
