Abstract

Road damage is a condition that indicates a condition where the road is no longer able to provide optimal service to traffic users. Probolinggo Regency is one of the regencies in Indonesia located in East Java Province. There are roads that experience pavement damage conditions in the Probolinggo Regency area, one of which is on the Taman Sari - Banjar Sawah Road Section (R.27). Therefore, it is necessary to handle road damage for the convenience and safety of traffic users. Methods that can be used to determine the level of road damage are the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and Bina Marga methods. The road condition assessment in the PCI method is with a value range of 0-100 while the Bina Marga method is based on the priority order of the road with a value range of 0-14. This research aims to find the index value of the level of damage on Malang arterial roads using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and Bina Marga methods which will be made mapping the condition of road damage using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The types of damage found at the research location include box cracks, longitudinal cracks, crocodile skin cracks, edge cracks, holes, ruts (grooves), patch damage, sungkur damage, and collapse damage. From the results of calculations and analysis, the value of road damage based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method and Bina Marga for the Taman Sari - Banjar Sawah Road Section has a PCI value with a range of 26 - 90 with an average of 61.25 which is included in the Good category and has a priority order value with a range of 5 - 9 with an average of 6.5 which is included in the periodic maintenance program category. Then a thematic map of road damage values for each road section was prepared.
