Abstract
A diet is a way of regulating the intake of nutrients into the body in order to maintain overall health. While diets can have positive effects, if done incorrectly, they can have many negative effects on the body, such as feeling weak and dizzy, difficulty concentrating, nausea and vomiting, and even developing a fear of food. A diet that has negative effects is called a toxic diet. To prevent toxic diets, researchers developed a Webcomic Design for Preventing Toxic Diets Among Adolescents Aged 18-21 as an information and education tool on healthy diets for the target audience, to prevent them from falling into and suffering the consequences of toxic diets. The research conducted in this design used a mixed-method approach combining qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative data was collected through interviews with Nutritionists and experienced dieters, while quantitative data was gathered from a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. In addition to collecting interview and questionnaire data, the researcher enriched the data in this design with secondary data from literature in the form of digital books, journals, and articles from the internet. The results of the primary and secondary data collection were processed into a SWOT matrix, consumer insight analysis, and consumer journey analysis. Then, the data was synthesized so that the USP (Unique Selling Proposition) could be formulated. The concept of the Design of a Webcomic for the Prevention of Toxic Diets for Adolescents Aged 18-21 Years began with the formulation of keywords, verbal formulation of the webcomic, visual formulation including the formulation of drawing style, typography, color, webcomic layout, characters in the webcomic, background, thumbnails, as well as the formulation of the main media and supporting media for the design, which were then comprehensively executed into design alternatives and validated using a questionnaire to create a final design ready for implementation in the design. With the Webcomic Design for Preventing Toxic Diets Among Adolescents Aged 18-21, the researcher hopes to address the lack of information regarding toxic diets and education about healthy diets for adolescents. Additionally, this design is expected to be beneficial for designers as a comprehensive final project, for the target audience to understand the dangers of toxic diet trends and adopt healthy eating habits, and for academics as a source of information and reference for creating similar webcomics. Keywords: Physical Health, Toxic Diet, Adolescents, Webcomic.
