Abstract
The development of information technology has facilitated access to services and increased organizational productivity. However, the Population and Civil Registration Office of Malang City still manages archives manually, resulting in delays and inefficiencies in document management. Therefore, this research designs the UI/UX of the Archive Management Information System using the design thinking method to meet user needs and overcome existing problems. The design thinking method involving the empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test stages was used in this design. The research involved interviewing users to understand the problem, developing solutions through brainstorming, and creating a prototype that was tested using usability testing. The test results showed that the prototype had a high level of usability with an average score of 83 on the System Usability Scale. The conclusion of this research is that the design thinking approach is effective in designing UI/UX that meets user needs and improves the efficiency of archive management. Suggestions for further development include more in-depth research on the empathize stage and development of the design into a front-end application. This research also provides practical experience for students in applying the theories obtained in lectures, as well as enriching their insights through direct interaction with a professional work environment.
