Abstract

In this increasingly digital age, financial management has become a challenge for Generation Z, especially with the ease offered by financial technology. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence financial management behavior among Generation Z in Surabaya. Specifically, this study analyzes the influence of financial literacy and lifestyle on financial management behavior, as well as the role of financial technology as a moderator among Generation Z in Surabaya. This study uses a quantitative method with a population of Generation Z in Surabaya. The sampling technique uses non-probability sampling, specifically purposive sampling, with a sample size of 100 respondents. The data used are primary data collected through the distribution of questionnaires to Generation Z in Surabaya. Data analysis was conducted using PLS-SEM with the assistance of SmartPLS 4 software. The results of the study indicate that financial literacy can contribute to financial management behavior, as can lifestyle, which can also contribute to financial management behavior. In addition, financial technology has been proven to contribute to strengthening the relationship between financial literacy and financial management behavior. However, financial technology contributes to weakening the relationship between lifestyle and financial management behavior.
