Abstract

The development of social media has given rise to the growth of digital activism, which is no longer limited to being a discussion forum through social media. More than that, Digital Activism is now carried out spontaneously. This new form of Digital Activism phenomenon is interpreted as Digital Movement of Opinion (DMO). One issue that has garnered significant public attention is the vicepresidential debate involving Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The low interaction among accounts in the communication network of the "Gibran Vice-Presidential Debate" has resulted in spontaneous and unorganized movement within the communication network. Discussions about Gibran Rakabuming Raka's performance in the first vice-presidential debate peaked on December 23, 2023. This surge was triggered by high levels of public interaction in response to his performance. The homogeneity of opinions within the communication network surrounding the Gibran Vice-Presidential Debate illustrates that most actors involved in the discussion predominantly expressed opinions regarding Gibran's performance during the first vice-presidential debate. The dominant opinions included evaluations of his communication style, how he answered questions, and comparisons with other candidates. This indicates that the focus of discussions within the communication network tended to center on Gibran, making him the focal point of conversations surrounding the debate. Keywords: Digital Movement of Opinion, Social Network Analysis, Digital Activism, Vice Presidental Candidate Debate, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, NodeXL
