Abstract

Nutrition is one of the important assets needed by humans, especially for children. Based on the results of the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) announced by the Ministry of Health, the stunting rate in Indonesia in 2022 had a percentage of 21.6% with the majority of children aged 24-35 months. In addition, there are still many people who do not know the other risks of stunting and its causes. Actually, with proper handling, an appropriate diet, and a good environment stunting can be prevented and corrected. With these problems, an educational media is needed for the community, especially for mothers and mothers-to-be. However, with the low literacy condition of Indonesian society, the spread of education through books is quite difficult to do. Therefore, illustration books with added features of the latest technology can be one solution to the problem of stunting in society. The technology is Augmented Reality. This feature can display looping videos of stunting explanations along with the sound if applying AR filters on pages with AR. Thus, the audience can interact with the book and the book becomes more interesting. These issues require educational media for the community, especially for mothers and expectant mothers. However, due to low literacy rates in Indonesia, spreading education through books is challenging. Therefore, illustrated books with Augmented Reality (AR) technology can be a solution to the stunting problem. AR can display looping videos with explanations and sound, allowing the audience to interact with the book, making it more engaging. The data collection process for this final project design uses qualitative and quantitative methods. Then, the data obtained is analyzed descriptively using the 5W + 1H analysis method to get conclusions as a reference for finding solutions to problems. The results of the analysis then get the keyword “Fun Stunting Education”. The concept of designing an augmented reality-based illustration book contains information about the explanation of stunting, the correlation between stunting and nutrition, causes, risks, myths and facts, and there are mini games as entertainment for the audience. The design of this book is expected to educate readers about stunting and can play a role in reducing stunting rates in Indonesia. Although the application of AR is sometimes slow depending on the internet network of each user, the information contained in it can be conveyed properly.
