Abstract

Indonesia is currently developing in all sectors, one of which is in the industrial sector. The development of industry in Indonesia, especially in the petrochemical industry, is expected to meet the needs of the community and increase economic growth in Indonesia. One example of a petrochemical product that is now very popular is detergent. Detergents are widely used for household and industrial purposes. The main component used is surfactant. Surfactants are molecules that have polar groups that like water (hydrophilic) and non-polar groups that like oil (lipophilic) at the same time, so that they can unite a mixture consisting of oil and water. The surfactant that is widely used in detergents is anionic surfactant, namely the compound Sodium Alkylbenzene Sulfonate. Sodium Alkylbenzene Sulfonate is the most abundant and environmentally friendly detergent ingredient because it is easily decomposed by microorganisms (Salsabila, 2020).
