Abstract
The development of technology has brought various innovations that support various aspects of human life, including online buying and selling activities. Online shopping or e-commerce has become a major trend in the business world as it provides convenience and comfort for users to conduct transactions online. This research aims to create a REST API-based Online Shopping System using Express framework and MongoDB as the database with the implementation of DevOps method. Express framework is chosen primarily for its ability to simplify route and application logic management, while MongoDB offers data storage flexibility. Data security is the main focus in developing this system. Therefore, user passwords are stored encrypted in the database to protect user data from security threats. In addition, the JSON Web Token (JWT) mechanism is used for authentication to ensure that only authorized users can access the system and data accurately. To ensure system quality and reliability, automated testing methods are implemented. Automated testing allows the identification of potential issues or bugs from the early stages of development, enabling quick and precise corrections. The development of REST API-based Online Shopping System using Express framework and MongoDB as the database has been successfully completed. This system can be a reliable and secure solution for online shopping activities.
