Abstract
Unemployment lies in the imbalance between the number of the workforce and the available jobs, which results in minimal absorption of work energy. Open unemployment includes workers who have not succeeded in finding work despite their efforts to do so. This research aims to analyze the influence of population, labor force participation rate (TPAK), minimum wage, and human development index (HDI) on the level of open poverty in Malang Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression methods, using secondary data from the Malang Regency Central Statistics Agency (BPS) during the 2014-2023 period. The research results show that population, TPAK and HDI have a significant influence on the level of open poverty, while the minimum wage does not have a significant influence. This research provides insight for policy makers to formulate effective strategies in reducing the level of open poverty in Malang Regency.
