Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect of financial literacy and financial planning on financial management behavior with financial self-efficacy as a mediating variable. The population in this study was generation Z aged 17-27 years in the city of Surabaya. The sample consisted of 100 respondents using a simple random sampling technique with data collection using a questionnaire and analysis using PLS. The results of the study indicate that financial literacy has an influence on financial management behavior in generation Z in the city of Surabaya. Financial planning is unable to influence financial management behavior. Financial literacy has an influence on financial self-efficacy. Financial planning has an influence on financial self-efficacy. Financial Self Efficacy is able to mediate the relationship between financial literacy and financial management behavior in the city of Surabaya. Financial Self Efficacy is able to mediate the relationship between financial planning and financial management behavior in the city of Surabaya.
