Abstract
In the field of education, higher education institutions play a crucial role in providing education, research, and community service. Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jawa Timur (UPNVJT) is an institution that conducts the Student Credit Point Unit (SKPM) program aimed at enhancing students' soft skills. However, many students still do not understand the purpose and meaning of the SKPM program and often face difficulties in academic consultations due to time constraints and accessing information. To address this issue, this thesis develops a WhatsApp-based Chatbot system that can answer questions related to SKPM, utilizing a platform that is already familiar to many students. The methodology used in the development of this system is the waterfall model, which consists of the stages of Communication, Planning, Modeling, Construction, and Deployment. It begins with interviews and observations regarding SKPM. Then, identifying the system requirements for the Chatbot to be created, followed by designing the Architecture, Flowchart, Use Case, Robustness, Sequence, and User Interface of the Chatbot system. System testing is carried out using the Blackbox testing method, while system usability measurement uses the Chatbot Usability Questionnaire (CUQ). The results of the CUQ test show that the Chatbot system successfully managed various user interaction scenarios well, with a CUQ score of 74%. These findings confirm that the implementation of Chatbot as a communication tool in the academic context can improve efficiency and accelerate the dissemination of relevant information to students.
