Abstract

The use of the reference interest rate instrument (BI7DRR) which has been determined to assess the performance of Bank Indonesia's monetary policy appears to be influencing the movement of Indonesia's inflation stability during the pandemic. However, on the other hand, whether Bank Indonesia in its monetary policy by setting interest rates is influenced by the inflation rate or vice versa, namely whether the movement of the inflation rate is influenced by Bank Indonesia's monetary policy. Researchers use data collection methods to search for and collect data that will be used in their research. In empirical testing, this hypothesis uses Granger Causality analysis between two variables and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) method analysis. The BI7DRR variable has no relationship or influence on the Inflation variable because during the Covid-19 pandemic period, the Inflation Variable had a significant relationship or influence on the BI7DRR variable. The casual relationship that occurs between BI7DRR and inflation is a one-way causal relationship. The inflation variable has a significant short-term and long-term influence on the BI7DRR variable. The BI7DRR variable had a significant shock effect on inflation of only 29.86% during the Covid-19 pandemic.
