Abstract

Negative prejudice in society regarding middle-aged women makes the social issue of age discrimination in the form of stereotyping still very relevant to be raised through the media. So the focus of this research is on middle-aged women's acceptance of ageism aimed at middle-aged women on Suara Surabaya YouTube content in the episode PODSS│Tante Girang!!! Mitos atau Fakta?. This research uses a qualitative method with a reception analysis approach by Stuart Hall. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interview techniques. The results of the research describe the background and reception of middle-aged women who are in a dominant position of hegemony, negotiation and opposition regarding ageism on Suara Surabaya YouTube content in the episode PODSS│Tante Girang!!! Mitos atau Fakta?
