Abstract
Balai Latihan Kerja Surabaya, commonly abbreviated as BLK, is a training and job placement institution located on Jalan Dukuh Menanggal III No. 29, Gayungan District, Surabaya City. BLK provides training facilities and infrastructure to candidates for acquiring skills and improving their expertise in their respective fields. The competency of BLK graduates is increasingly recognized through professional competency certifications issued by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). As a certification service agency, BLK Surabaya requires a proficient certificate management and storage system for its participants. However, the management of certificate archives at BLK Surabaya, which is managed by the Development and Marketing Division (PP), is still conducted manually. Officials are required to search for the location data of certificate storage in printed documents, while participants must inquire directly or visit the office to ask about the status of their certificates. This can cause several issues, such as the high volume of phone calls from training alumni inquiring about certificate status, the vulnerability of printed documents containing certificate storage data to damage, and the time-consuming process of finding the required certificates. These issues can impede the efficiency of PPBLK employees, making their work less effective. To address these problems, a web-based certificate data archiving application system was developed in this fieldwork practice to enhance the efficiency of employees in managing certificate archives in a more structured manner, and to serve as a source of information for training alumni to monitor their certificate status. This website was built in the JavaScript programming language ecosystem, using Node.js with Express.js as the backend framework and the EJS view engine. The database system uses MySQL as a repository to store a collection of data that can be accessed electronically. Furthermore, Figma was utilized as a tool to design the web system interface. In addition, ReactJS and Bootstrap were implemented in the frontend to facilitate the development of the website's user interface. The development of this website resulted in an admin website with features for adding, modifying, deleting, and searching participant certificate data, as well as a website for the general public with a certificate status search feature.
