Abstract
Sodium sulfate has another name: salt cake. Lots of sodium sulfate used in the chemical industry, due to its inertness at low temperatures and properties reactive at high temperatures. The use of sodium sulfate is used in some industry, namely: paper, textile, detergent and glass industries. This sodium sulfate factory using the methanoic acid process, because the process is the most efficient and effective, besides that the yield obtained is quite high. Establishment of a sodium sulfate factory with raw materials of sodium formate and sulfuric acid with the methanoic acid process has a capacity of 130,000 tons/year. Plans to establish a factory in the Java Integrated Industrial Area and Industrial Port Estate (JIIPE), Gresik, Indonesia. This factory will be established with uses a 24 hour continuous operating system with 330 working days employees totaling 169 employees. The raw material for making sodium sulfate is Imported sodium formate was obtained from Humate Tianjin Limited, China and acid sulfate obtained from PT Petrokimia Gresik
