Abstract
Indonesia has a lot of tourism potential that is used for recreation and vacations. The tourism potential of the South Malang coastline is so great that it is an attraction for domestic and foreign tourists. One of the beaches that is a tourist destination is Balekambang Beach, which is the flagship tourist attraction of Malang Regency. Balekambang Beach has natural potential in the form of a beautiful forest, white sand, and coral reefs along 200 meters to the sea. This beach is fortified by three coral islands that are lined up to the west, namely Anoman Island, Wisanggeni Island, and Ismoyo Island. In addition, there is the Sagara Amertajati temple on Ismoyo Island, which is 70 meters from the shore of Balekambang Beach. The great natural potential of Balekambang Beach makes many tourists interested in visiting it. It is necessary to provide accommodation facilities accompanied by recreational facilities so as to meet the needs of a variety of tourist activities. The resort is planned using an ecological architectural approach that applies environmentally friendly concepts in order to preserve and attract tourists. The design concept refers to the theme of harmony with nature in order to present a resort with an atmosphere that is closer to nature. It is realized by incorporating natural elements into the building and exploring the best possible natural potential. The concept is supported by the application of the organic biology analogy method in the resort design. The result of this design is a form of building design that adapts the shape of plants. The appearance of the building has a natural material composition of bamboo and thatch roofs applied in an exposed manner and the use of environmentally friendly materials. That way, the overall design of the building will be designed in harmony with the environment around the site and can attract visiting tourists.
