Abstract
PT Pertamina (Persero) is a state-owned company operating in the energy sector including oil, gas, and new and renewable energy. PT Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit IV located in Cilacap is one of 7 PT Pertamina processing units whose main business activity is processing crude oil into BBM (Fuel Oil) and non-BBM (oil) products. bases, lubricants, and asphalt) and petrochemicals. PT Pertamina RU IV Cilacap is a processing unit has the largest production capacity, namely 348,000 barrels/day and the most complete product types. This refinery has strategic value because it supplies 34% of national fuel needs or 60% of Java Island's needs. PT Pertamina Refinery Unit IV Cilacap is divided into Oil Refinery I (FOC I), Oil Refinery II (FOC II), LOC I, LOC II, Paraxylene Refinery. Oil Refinery I is designed to produce fuel and non-fuel products (lubricating base oil and asphalt) from imported crude oil (Arabian Light Crude, Iranian Light Crude, Basrah Light Crude). Oil Refinery II processes crude oil in depth countries with lower sulfur levels. The raw material is a mixture of domestic and imported crude oil (Cocktail). LOC I and LOC II process long residue to produce the main product lube base and asphalt by-products as well as Minarex-B. Meanwhile, the Paraxylene Refinery processes naphtha from FOC II into petrochemical products, namely paraxylene and benzene as the main products and raffinate, heavy aromate, toluene and LPG as by-products. The specific task carried out was to evaluate the performance of the Heat Exchanger Stabilizer Reboiler unit 011-E-120. The evaluation is viewed in terms of fouling factor, from the calculations the fouling factor (Rd) is 0.1914 hr. ft2 F/Btu, while the allowable Rd is 0.0034 hr ft2 F/Btu. This shows that the Heat exchanger Stabilizer Reboiler 011E120 is still suitable for use, but there is overdesign, where the calculated Rd is too large than the design Rd. For this reason, it is necessary to optimize the operational process, so that the calculated Rd value is close to the design Rd
