Abstract
The comedy content "Ingin Jadi Rakyat yang Baik" uploaded to the Instagram ac-count @ Bintangemon is one of the stand up comedy content created by one of the popular comedians in Indonesia, namely Bintang Emon. In this content, Bintang Emon presents his material in a monologue that reviews the performance of mem-bers of the House of Representatives in Indonesia in the midst of the Covid-19 pan-demic, to be precise in the middle of 2020. This study aims to reveal the description of social criticism related to The performance of the House of Representatives in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic disaster in comedy content entitled "Want to Be a Good People" on the Instagram account @ Bintangemon. This study uses a se-miotic analysis technique modeled by Roland Barthes, by working to interpret the signs contained in the content in a denotative, connotative, and mythical way, pre-cisely on the signs contained in the monologue, expression, use of costumes, cam-era point of view, and also shooting techniques in the comedy content. This study found that the comedy content "Want to be a Good People" produced by the comic artist Bintang Emon and uploaded to the @staremon Instagram account contains social criticism detected in the monologue and expression sections, which are relat-ed to the performance of members of the DPR, such as: 1.) social criticism related to the ratification of the job creation bill; 2.) social criticism related to repressive actions in aspiration; 3.) social criticism of UU ITE and its implementation; and 4.) social criticism related to the attitude of officials in responding to demonstrations. In addition, other criticisms are also found in the use of an all-black costume that symbolizes grief, as well as the technique of taking pictures and the camera's point of view which represents social criticism from the point of view of the people in general.
