Abstract

This research has the title UI/UX Design for Website-Based Applications for Pre-order Catering in Surabaya. The catering business is a business that has great potential to develop in this digital era. Many Indonesian people, especially the city of Surabaya, use catering services to meet their daily food needs, this is a result of the high mobility of people in this era. However, until now, food service entrepreneurs still use social media platforms to transact online. Of course this is the main topic of the author in designing this design, namely by creating a website-based application which is expected to be a solution to the problems of catering service entrepreneurs in online catering transactions. In the research process, researchers used qualitative and quantitative methods to obtain information related to this design. The qualitative method used by the author is structure interviews which are held directly through face to face to 2 (two) sellers of catering services in Surabaya. This method is carried out to find out information related to the system and what features are needed by the seller when carrying out the online catering buying and selling transaction process. While the second method is a questionnaire which is distributed to 100 people in Surabaya at random with an age range of 25-40 years. This method is used to find out the basic things about the design of the application like what buyers are interested in when using this application. The results show that, based on interviews with sellers, this application needs to be designed as simple as possible so that it is easy to use. However, this design requires some special features such as pre-orders, added menus, time that can be set by the seller and many more. Meanwhile, according to the results of the questionnaires that have been distributed, this design can use a modern theme where the design assets used seem simple but still attractive and easy to understand. This is visualized through icons, layouts and typography. Being a society in the digital era certainly makes us inseparable from technology that helps in our daily work. Therefore, with the UI/UX Design of the Pre-order Catering Website-Based Application in Surabaya, it is hoped that it will make it easier for sellers and buyers to be able to process catering buying and selling transactions online anywhere and anytime without having to download it first.
