Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of training and recruitment on employee performance within the Marketing Division of PT. Bersama Era Sentosa Tama in Lumajang. The study is motivated by the crucial role that training and effective recruitment processes play in supporting employee performance to achieve company goals optimally. A quantitative approach was employed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method, with data processed via SmartPLS. The sample consisted of 50 respondents, drawn from the marketing division's total workforce of 50 employees using total sampling. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires to the HR department and marketing division of PT. Bersama Era Sentosa Tama via Google Forms. The results indicate that training has a significant effect on employee performance, whereas recruitment does not. An R-squared value of 0.499 was obtained, demonstrating that the training and recruitment variables explain 49.9% of the variation in employee performance, with the remainder attributed to factors outside the scope of this study. These findings suggest that the company needs to place greater emphasis on employee training programs, given their more dominant influence compared to the recruitment process—on enhancing employee performance. Keywords: Training, Recruitment, Employee Performance, PLS-SEM
