Abstract
Human resources play a crucial role in supporting smooth operational processes and the achievement of company targets, particularly in production activities that require adequate competence, training, and work discipline. Within the Production and Equipment Division of PT Wijaya Karya Beton PPB Pasuruan, several conditions indicate suboptimal employee performance; these include inconsistent achievement of production targets, the presence of defective products, uneven employee competence and certification, suboptimal training implementation, and rising employee absenteeism. This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of competence, training, and work discipline on employee performance within the Production and Equipment Division of PT Wijaya Karya Beton PPB Pasuruan. This study employs a quantitative approach, involving all 43 employees as respondents through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected via questionnaires, interviews, and company records, and subsequently analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. The results indicate that competence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a path coefficient of 0.365, a t-statistic of 3.298, and a p-value of 0.001. Training also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a path coefficient of 0.306, a t-statistic of 3.577, and a p-value of 0.000. Similarly, work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a path coefficient of 0.512, a t-statistic of 4.920, and a p-value of 0.000. Among the three variables, work discipline exerts the greatest influence on employee performance. An R-square value of 0.862 indicates that competence, training, and work discipline explain 86.2% of the variation in employee performance, while the remaining 13.8% is explained by factors outside the research model. The findings of this study indicate that employee performance improvement can be supported by strengthening competencies, conducting training aligned with job requirements, and enhancing work discipline. Therefore, the company needs to improve competency development and training, as well as reinforce the implementation of work discipline, to support optimal and sustainable improvements in employee performance. Keywords: competence, training, work discipline, employee performance, SEM-PLS.
