Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, basic accounting knowledge, and entrepreneurial orientation on the use of financial applications among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Gubeng District, Surabaya. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 80 respondents via a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that, individually, financial literacy and entrepreneurial orientation have a positive and significant effect on the use of financial applications, while basic accounting knowledge does not show a significant effect. Collectively, these three variables have a significant effect on the use of financial applications, accounting for 51.1% of the variance. These findings indicate that the adoption of financial applications by MSMEs is not solely determined by technical accounting skills but is driven more by sound financial understanding and an innovative entrepreneurial mindset. This study offers implications for MSME operators, the government, and application developers to design more effective and targeted digitalization strategies. Keywords: Financial Literacy, Basic Accounting Understanding, Entrepreneurial Orientation, Use of Financial Applications, SMEs
