Abstract

UMKM Keripik Tempe Rohani provides two packaging variants, namely transparent plastic packaging and modern packaging, however 60% of consumers tend to choose plastic packaging. This study aims to analyze the effect of product packaging and product quality on consumer purchase decisions, and to analyze the determinants of consumer packaging preferences. The study involved 100 respondents selected using the Lemeshow formula. The analytical methods used were SEM-PLS for the first objective, and binary logistic regression for the second objective. Results show that product packaging has a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions with a path coefficient of 0.824, and product quality also has a positive and significant effect with a path coefficient of 0.160. Binary logistic regression results indicate that price and quantity as well as transparency vs aesthetics significantly determine consumer packaging preferences, while flavor variety and product information completeness have no significant effect. Transparency vs aesthetics is the most dominant predictor with an Odds Ratio of 2.114.
