Abstract

This study aims to analyze the information’s diffusion and communication network structures in the use of the hashtag #BravePinkHeroGreen on the X (Twitter) platform during the period of August–September 2025. The #BravePinkHeroGreen phenomenon represents a form of digital communication based on color symbolism that evolved into a space for the articulation of collective identity, solidarity, and discourse contestation within Indonesia’s social media environment. The research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory design, integrating the theories of Information Diffusion, Connective Action, and Social Network Analysis (SNA). Research data were obtained from user activities on X, including tweets, retweets, mentions, and replies containing the hashtag #BravePinkHeroGreen. Data were collected and subsequently analyzed through NodeXL. The analysis focused on identifying patterns of information dissemination, key actors, centrality levels, network density, modularity, and interaction patterns among actors within the digital communication network. The findings reveal that the diffusion of the #BravePinkHeroGreen hashtag occurred through information sharing mechanisms influenced by central actors, interaction intensity, and the momentum of events developing within the digital public sphere. The resulting network structure demonstrates an unequal distribution of influence, where a number of accounts function as primary information hubs and bridges connecting different groups within the network. Furthermore, the network exhibits characteristics of connective action, marked by decentralized participation, the use of personalized narratives, and coordination facilitated through digital connectivity without the dominance of formal organizational structures. This study contributes theoretically to the advancement of digital communication research by strengthening the application of Social Network Analysis in understanding color based hashtag activism in Indonesia. Methodologically, it demonstrates the relevance of integrating big data, network analysis, and digital communication theories to examine public opinion dynamics on social media. The findings are expected to serve as a valuable reference for scholars, communication practitioners, and policymakers in understanding information diffusion patterns and the formation of communication networks within the digital public sphere. Keywords: #BravePinkHeroGreen, Social Network Analysis, information diffusion, connective action, digital communication, X platform.
